Take a moment to come back to your mind and recall the many different seasons of life you've already lived. When you think back, the seasons you remember might be the challenges and hard lessons that come to mind. Maybe it's the growth you see now through the lens of self-reflection. Or maybe the moments you remember that have made you into the person you are today are the ones filled with joy, excitement, gratitude, and zest for life.
Seasons can be marked on calendars by life events such as graduation, marriage, promotion, sickness, injury, cycles of birth, and death. Past seasons are also distinctly punctuated in our memories by our presence at the time of each experience. This past season of worldwide pandemic is one we've all experienced collectively and are still learning how to navigate each new day. We've been forced to spend time with ourselves, to reflect, and to find grace within the fibers of our flaws, in an effort to move forward. This waypoint in time may have also been very transitional and personal for you. Transitions aren't always easy, but they are necessary, for they are the catalyst in taking ownership of your life.
Transitions are imperative to our personal growth and life evolution.
Liminality, or liminal space, describes these phases or transitions perfectly. As human beings, we are constantly changing and evolving since the day we are born. This detail alone has led me to believe that our lives are not meant to be lived deflated, over-regimented, or as something out of a scene from “Groundhog’s Day”. Rather, each day, each moment, is an opportunity to learn and grow into our life’s purpose, our dharma.
"If we don't encounter liminal space in our lives, we start idealizing normalcy"
(Author and Franciscan friar Richard Rohr).
Liminal Space Yoga was designed to support you through your transitional moments and the inevitable liminal spaces you will encounter along the way. It was created to guide you towards self-discovery through energy transmutation by way of movement and breath on even the most challenging of days. And each offering through this virtual platform is carefully crafted in an inspired and organic way that will lead you towards liberation and self-realization.
I believe in you.
